Shake Shack received a warm welcome after the owner of this popular burger restaurant announced that employees and customers dining indoors were required to show proof that they were vaccinated against COVID-19.
Danny Meyer, owner Shake the hut, Appeared on Thursday at NBC Finance Channel The show “Squawk Box”. He revealed that Union Square Hotel Group will apply this authorization to its restaurants.
“This is the most logical thing I have ever seen,” Meyer said. “I am not a scientist, but I know how to read data. What I see is that this is a crisis of unvaccinated people. I feel that as business leaders, we have a great responsibility to be careful of our team and our Guest, this is what we are doing.”
On Thursday, Shake Shack became a hot topic on Twitter, and users praised the restaurant’s stance on the coronavirus pandemic.
“Good job, Shake Shack. Order today to support your vaccination station,” One person wrote.
A Twitter user from Canada revealed that they appreciate the restaurant’s decision and hope to have the opportunity to support it.
“If Shake Shack is here, I will go there just to support them, even if I am not cold about their menu (I think it’s milkshakes and burgers),” Personally wrote.
Although restaurants under the Union Square Hotel Group will comply with vaccine regulations, Meyer revealed that Shake Shack will be able to develop its own guidelines.
“Shake the hut Appropriate decisions will be made for them in due course,” he said.
Meyer went on to share that most of the employees of the group were vaccinated, but he hoped that the eight-hour salary in exchange for vaccinations would encourage employees to roll up their sleeves.
