The federal ban on evictions has ended, but some states have redoubled their efforts by extending the moratorium or providing lease funding assistance to eligible residents.

On Friday night, the House of Representatives failed to pass legislation that should extend the federal deportation ban. At the time, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, said there was “not enough time Socialize in our core group and build the necessary consensus,” CNN reported. The Biden administration asked Congress to pass an extension two days before the ban expires.
