Comedian Casey Griffin said on Monday that after sharing on social media that she was diagnosed with stage 1 lung cancer, she remained hopeful about her health.
“I have to tell you one thing. I have cancer. I am about to undergo surgery to remove half of my left lung. Yes, although I never smoke, I have lung cancer!” Griffin, 60, tweeted.
Griffin revealed that her condition is likely to be approved.
“The doctor is very optimistic because it is the first stage and is contained in my left lung,” she said.
“I hope that there will be no chemotherapy or radiotherapy after this, and my breathing function should be normal. I should run around as usual in a month or less. Four years have passed, and I am trying to return to work for you guys. Laughing will make you happy, but I will be fine.”
Griffin then revealed that she believes that if she had not been vaccinated against COVID-19, her health might be worse.
The comedian also advised her followers to undergo regular medical examinations to stay healthy.
Griffin is expected to appear on ABC “Night Line” Discuss her diagnosis and her painkiller addiction on Tuesday.
She said that the doctor prescribed several medicines to her, including painkillers for elbow injuries.
“I really fell in love with them,” she said. “Then it was a temptation to say,’Oh, I can regulate my energy level or mood. Or… I fell on my elbow on my behavior or other things, I can be painless or otherwise What. It quickly got out of control.”
