The North Carolina rapper DaBaby received strong opposition for his homophobic remarks during the Rolling Loud performance in Miami.
The 29-year-old issued some apologies, which may have exacerbated the situation. DaBaby apologized again after several incidents caused him to withdraw from the lineup.
His comments on Rolling Loud seemed to confuse many people.
He said: “If you are not infected with HIV/AIDS or any fatal sexually transmitted disease today, these diseases will kill you within two to three weeks.”
DaBaby was later removed from Lollapolooza in Chicago and Day N Vegas in Las Vegas.
The second apology concerns his lack of understanding of sexually transmitted diseases. “Knowing that what I need is education and guidance on these topics-it has been challenging,” he said.
DaBaby insists that he has not been educated about how “if you have AIDS or HIV” comments offend the LGBTQ community. He commented in Miami, which has one of the largest LGBTQ communities in the world.
Many Twitter users are not attracted by the latest comments. They believe that DaBaby’s apology is to save his career after being eliminated in the recent music event.
He was also Bang Singer Dua Lipa claimed that she did not recognize him after he made a comment. Dua Lipa and DaBaby perform in the same song “Levitate”.
