A viral video captured an axe worker destroying the checkout area of ​​a grocery store. According to reports, he destroyed it because the store’s employees refused to serve his wife because he did not wear a mask.

In the video, a man dressed in black walks towards the entrance of the supermarket holding an axe. According to a report by “World Today”, his wife also wore a black dress and walked behind him in their son’s movie.

As soon as they entered the checkout area of ​​the store, the man began to use an axe to destroy the price scanner, plastic barriers and store displays. As he walked around in the store, he screamed and chopped up various items.

According to reports, the incident occurred in an ATB supermarket in Mariupol, a coastal city in Donetsk Oblast in southeastern Ukraine.The video appeared in the “Public Freakout” section of the online discussion site on Monday Reddit.

Before recording the video, the man’s wife tried to make a purchase without wearing a mask. According to the Ukrainian news website Informator, the cashier refused to serve the woman until she put on a mask, which is required by law. The wife refused.

The lady started arguing with several employees and customers. She eventually left the store and told her husband that a male customer gave her a push during the argument.

When the man with the axe began to attack, the store employee pressed the emergency button to notify the police and ran away. The man fell during the attack, but only stayed in the store for less than a minute before escaping from him. The security guards and police squad arrived afterwards.

According to reports, he destroyed four cash registers and checkout areas, causing a loss of 100,000 Ukrainian hryvnia, or approximately US$3,720.96.

The store said in a statement: “ATB strongly condemns this person’s aggressive behavior that endangers the lives and health of its employees and visitors.”

The man brags about the attack in a now-deleted file Facebook postal. Policemen He was later arrested. According to reports, the man was a 35-year-old local resident, and the local media did not disclose his name. He was named the suspect and allegedly destroyed another grocery supermarket in the same area.

The police charged the man with hooliganism. If convicted, he will face three to seven years in prison.

As of August 3, the video has received more than 12,800 likes and 1,814 comments on the “Public freakout” forum on Reddit. Most comments expressed dissatisfaction with the man’s behavior and reports of his use of his son as a photographer.
