Three Minneapolis police officers shot and killed them after a Somali-American shot at them. They will not face charges.

Dakota County Attorney Kathy Keena reviewed the case at the request of Hennepin County. Keener said that although Ed’s death was tragic, the police officers’ use of lethal force after Ed shot them was justified and there was no basis for any criminal charges.
Keener said in the summary of the investigation: “The use of lethal force by the sheriff is a legitimate reason to protect the police officer or others from death or major bodily harm.” “My conclusion is that, taking into account the facts and circumstances of this incident, three police officers The officials believed that it was objective and reasonable for Mr. Eide to pose a fatal threat to them and other police officers on the scene when they opened fire.”

The gun is to protect other customers in the parking lot. The prosecutor said that the body camera video and a statement in the Aide passenger support police statement was the first one that Aide opened fire.
Ide’s death was the first police-related death in Minneapolis since. George Freud He died while being restrained a few months ago. Policemen Chief Medaria Arradondo released some camcorder videos taken by Idd the day after the incident, saying that he wanted the public to see it with his own eyes because the city was trying to curb public anger.
Jerani Hussein, executive director of the Minnesota branch of the American Council on Islamic Relations, said that Eid’s family hoped that Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz would hand the case to the state’s Attorney General Keith Ellison. Hussein also stated that the family could not see any body camera video in the case until they learned that the lawsuit would not be filed.
Hussein said: “We hope that this case will have at least a different outcome, but these county prosecutors seem to be really not interested in cooperating with their families.”
The Minneapolis Police Department did not issue a statement on the results of the prosecutor’s investigation.
