The armored amphibious maritime assault vehicle (MAV) was developed within the scope of the Defense Industry Presidential Palace project to meet the needs of the Turkish Navy Command’s amphibious armored vehicle. MAV will be exhibited at IDEF2021.
FNSS will deliver a total of 27 vehicles, of which 23 are personnel carriers, 2 are command and control vehicles, and 2 are rescue vehicles. The project development activities have been completed and the qualification phase has begun. The first car will be delivered in 2021 after completing the qualification test. The project will be completed in 2022.
In the past two years, the prototype vehicle has successfully completed a number of engineering tests and subsystem qualifications such as durability, offshore performance, land performance, and self-righting. This is a preview of the qualification test of the prototype. Chairman of the Defense Industry and Navy. Compared with similar products, MAV has higher ballistic and lightning protection, and is equipped with today’s most advanced mission equipment.
MAV is superior to its peers in the following aspects;
- The number of people transported by vehicles,
- Ballistic and mine protection levels and
- Performance standards that must be met on land and in water.
As the fastest amphibious vehicle to enter the Turkish Armed Forces inventory, MAV will have all the characteristics and capabilities of military land vehicles and military ships by balancing the needs of land and sea.
