Jojo Siwa will be the first performer in history to dance with a same-sex partner in “Dancing with the Stars”.
ABC announced the 30th season of the show in a social media post on Thursday.
Siwa appeared as a member of the LGBTQ community in January and expressed her excitement of being part of the show.
The 18-year-old dancer said in the “Dancing with the Stars” promotional video: “I am very happy to participate in this year’s “Dancing with the Stars” season 30 and dance with a girl.” “I think this Cool.”
ABC keeps the names of Jojo’s partners confidential and will announce them during the season premiere of the show.
Since revealing her sexual orientation earlier this year, Siwa has been careful to label herself a specific label.
“Like, I want to figure out…I like’queer’,” she told people In April. “Technically speaking, I would say that I am pansexual, because this is my life…like, my people are my people.”
“Dancing Mom” alumni talked about her “Homosexual awakening” In a chat with Demi Lovato in July. At the time, the dancer said that Lovato played an important role in finding her true identity.
“Do you remember your dancer, her name is Jojo Gomez, and you did’Cool Summer’ together. I remember seeing that, but I was a little too interested,” West Val told Lovato and saw him laughing excitedly.
As the first dancer to partner with a same-sex partner, Siwa couldn’t help expressing her excitement at this opportunity.
“I’m glad I can do this. I think it breaks a wall that has never been broken before,” Siwa said in an interview with the Television and Critics Association (TCA) panel. Reported by Disney’s official fan club.
When she received an email asking her to participate in the 30th season of the show, the producer asked her if she wanted to be paired with men or women. Siwa said it was easy for her to say that she wanted to find a female partner for the show.
“I want everything to go well for those who follow me,” Siva said.
Li Shuyi, the Olympic gold medalist in women’s gymnastics, will also participate in the performance.
