Mercedes showcases 4 new electric cars in Munich to start the IAA Mobility Show

Mercedes-Benz previewed future SUVs and cars on the first day of the IAA Mobility 2021 show. A series of all-electric models and concept cars show the sustainable, fast and ultra-luxury side of the company’s business.

The German automaker has announced plans to provide all-electric models in every car segment it sells starting in 2022. Starting in 2025, all models sold will be provided in pure electric form. The company is launching three new vehicle architectures to achieve this plan.

The EQG concept is a nearly mass-produced all-electric version of the brand’s iconic boxy off-road model. It retains the same 4×4 capabilities as the traditional G Wagon, but has the advantages of quiet driving, torque-filled traction and zero emissions that an all-electric car can provide.

The concept car uses two-color paint, luminous exterior effects, dark black grille and 22-inch alloy wheels. Mercedes retains the iconic square appearance of the SUV, while adding a white LED light bar to the front edge of the roof rack, and another red LED light bar at the rear of the area.

Mercedes has taken the electric SUV to a new level with the new Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV concept car. The model is disposable and close to production quality. It incorporates the characteristic elements of Maybach, such as a two-tone paint finish with typical EQS furniture and an all-electric power system.

In addition to door panels, armrests and unique decorations, the interior of the SUV is also equipped with executive seats and Chauffer Package, including white piano paint and deep sea blue trim, designed to connect the model with yacht life.

The seamless nature of the SUV body makes it appear robust and refined, while promoting complex design elements such as the chrome vertical Maybach pinstripe on the front black panel and the classic Maybach lettering on the hood.

The designer equipped the model with a floating center console and a three-screen display MBUX Hyperscreen. Passengers have a 12.3-inch OLED display. The circular vents with galvanized trim connect the SUV to its Mercedes counterparts.

The new Mercedes-AMG EQS provides buyers with the best electric powertrain performance, high-end configuration and the latest technology.

The car’s battery pack and two electric motors can provide 649 horsepower during traditional driving, and the driver has the opportunity to instantly increase the output to 751 horsepower. All-wheel drive vehicles can provide up to 700 pound-feet of torque. Slippery, comfortable, personal, sports and sports + driving modes are available.

Unique soundscape, high-performance equipment, regenerative braking and fast charging capabilities make this AMG model more popular. It is also equipped with an AMG Performance steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather, AMG sports pedals, AMG floor mats and door sill trims, and exposed-line instrument panel elements.

The technology of the car is expected to demonstrate the specific functions of AMG. The Hyperscreen of the car has an AMG startup screen, and the entire MBUX system will adapt to the driver to customize the driving experience they like.

Pricing for the AMG EQS model has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be much higher than the estimated starting price of US$110,000 by EQS for US customers.

The EQE executive sedan is the second model based on Mercedes’ advanced electric vehicle architecture. Its world premiere revealed that the size of the car is similar to the existing Mercedes-Benz CLS, but its interior space is more spacious and the seat position is 2.5 inches higher.

Mercedes engineers equipped the EQE with a 90 kWh battery trunk, which can provide the car with approximately 410 miles of fully electric cruising range.

The first EQE EQE 350 to be marketed will provide drivers with 288 horsepower. It is expected that future versions of the model will be released after the mid-2022 release date.

Buyers can choose to use MBUX Hyperscreen to specify their EQE, and passengers have the opportunity to control how they enjoy infotainment through the 12.3-inch OLED display in front of them.

The internal design of EQE follows the design of EQS, but in the end it is not so luxurious.

The pricing of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE has not yet been announced.
