This is the first time I decided to use my hair to make a statement during New York Fashion Week. Of course, the week itself revolves around clothing, but hair and makeup are another area of fashion that play an important role in self-expression. Since my curly hair became my iconic trademark when I entered the industry, I thought it would be fun to design and tame them in a few different ways during fashion week. You know, all the ways I can wear them to celebrate. Of course you have to turn your head. My excellent hair stylist Nai’vasha (@naivashaintl) Makes me look and feel like a queen all week. This is my curly hair going out.
Day 1: Serious braids
This is a very interesting hairstyle that can add some volume to your ensemble. Nai’vasha split my hair from the middle, braided it into a French braid at the top, and divided it into two low braids. There are a lot of smoothing efforts to keep the top smooth, on the contrary, a lot of teasing and puffing maximize the charm of the ponytail. This look gave me some 80s disco feel.
Day 2: Modern Ear of Corn
For the second day, we chose the opposite method to volume. She split my hair in the middle and divided it into four parts. There are two larger braids at the top and two smaller braids above the ears, and the hair is pulled back tightly. Later, I twisted the braid into a low bun at the nape as another style change.
Day 3: Smooth 90s ponytail
This is the ponytail that ends all ponytails. My girl Nai’vasha gave me a super smooth high ponytail. Our conversation was so smooth that I thought I had a facelift. She braided it, or rather, twisted it into a braid with only two strands of hair. Then, she did her best job and gave me some 90s style baby hair, which was perfectly curled and fixed to my temples and ears. It’s so fascinating!
Day 4: I dreamed of Jenny Pony
The last look of the week gave me some crazy “I dreamed of Jenny” feeling. We made another smooth ponytail look, only this time it was on one side of my face. She made my hair loose and curly and wavy. This is a very elegant bun.
