DuckDuckGo is developing a desktop version of its mobile application, which provides a private browsing experience that is said to be faster than Google’s Chrome browser.
It is not a “private browser” because DuckDuckGo made sure to clarify in the announcement.
Instead, it is called: “A daily browsing application that respects your privacy.”
This may be a public relations term for the behavior that actually manifests itself as a private browser, but we will have to wait for the time when the product is officially released.
What is the difference between a and Privacy browser and a Private browsing app?
DuckDuckGo said that the difference lies in the way its applications are built:

“We did not fork Chromium or anything else, but instead built our desktop applications around the rendering engine provided by the operating system (for example on mobile devices), which allowed us to remove many of the errors accumulated in major browsers over the years. Necessary cumbersome and messy.”
Not to be confused with DuckDuckGo’s Chrome desktop browser extension, its private browsing application will be a standalone product.
Compared with Chrome with the DuckDuckGo extension installed, the desktop application will provide many advantages.
There are few details currently available, but so far, the known information about DuckDuckGo’s desktop application is as follows:

DuckDuckGo’s desktop application is currently being tested in closed beta. The company’s announcement did not say when it will be available to everyone.

- Globally, DuckDuckGo’s all-in-one privacy apps and extensions have been downloaded more than 150 million times.
