There are fashion week looks that you would never wear in real life, and there are fashion week looks that will bring new life to your reality. This look belongs to the second category. Between flashy gowns and tailoring, I mixed this street-style friendly outfit that I would (and would) actually wear in everyday city life.
I wanted to share this ensemble with you because it’s easy to recreate with the main ingredients you already have in your wardrobe: all you need is a chunky sweater (love the funky pattern), black bodysuit (sheer or dense, depends on your preference), combat boots (the winning lug sole), skirt or shorts, and an optional (but essential in my opinion) vest.
Basic Ingredients: Black Leggings and Black Bottoms
I love wearing tights in the winter, especially as we get closer to the promise of warmer days. I prefer the opaque version. If you wear them with a black skirt or even some crinkled leather shorts, you’re ready for a sleek street style. I really love this black miniskirt and will definitely be recycling it in spring for a warmer look.
Spotlight: Chunky sweaters and military vests
Once you’ve laid the foundation for your look, create a focal point for your look by choosing a thick sweater in a pattern or color of your choice. This eclectic sweater Designed by Sacai of Net-a-porter, the perfect combination of colors and patterns is mesmerizing. Pairing it with a pastel knit is another fun way to flirt with the border months between winter and spring.
I also threw this Sacai’s military vest Play with a little scale and predictability. You can also make it an all-black look and rely on a vest or accessories to color it.
Accessories: Combat boots, earrings and accessory bags
Accessories have the power to completely enhance your outfit. A pair of lug-soled combat boots are great to wear all winter and spring. They give every look a funky edge and can be used for days on the go.
Black sunglasses and gold hoops keep the look down-to-earth, but still cosmopolitan. Finally, I accentuated the outfit with a vibrant orange Jacquemus mini bag for added contrast. It’s the cherry (apricot?) in the whole street-style vibe.
