Paid Internship: Quantitative and Policy Research on Energy Transition and Climate Change
CCSI seeks motivated and high-performing students (graduate or undergraduate) to support the center’s research on the disposal and divestment of fossil fuel assets by oil majors to decarbonize their operations in line with the Paris Agreement. Tasks will include cataloguing and examining asset sales by the super giant, analysing the metrics behind the sales, reviewing the track records of buyers and sellers, reading and analysing existing literature, and further tasks deemed necessary by senior staff. Preference will be given to candidates with strong research, writing and quantitative skills. Knowledge and experience in the energy industry or demonstrated interest in issues related to climate change is desirable.
Paid Internship: Legal and Policy Research on Energy, Climate Change and Sustainable Development
CCSI is looking for LLM or JD student interns to assist with legal and policy research, writing and other activities related to various projects within CCSI’s energy and climate change work. Tasks will include classifying and reviewing responsibilities for decommissioning offshore oil and gas facilities and infrastructure in fossil fuel extraction leases and contracts in different jurisdictions; identifying, cataloguing and examining relevant academic and practitioner literature on environmental pollution prevention and Best practice for lessee liability transfer; identification of potential legal, regulatory and contractual improvements to existing systems or practices. Preference will be given to candidates with strong legal research and writing skills, as well as candidates with experience or demonstrated interest in energy or climate change related issues.
