3. Optimize your list
Now that you know your target keywords and outline for future articles, start writing your list with SEO in mind.
Of course, with any article, including list articles, you need to follow general SEO considerations.

However, there are also some SEO recommendations that are more or less specific to list-type content. Here they come:
3.1 Using subtitles
The subtitle introduces the new section of the article. They are usually marked up with H2, H3 or H4 HTML tags.
Subheadings help improve readability and make any article easier to navigate.
Subtitles also help with SEO because Google uses them to better understand the structure of an article and find answers to related questions.
Depending on the outline of your future article, your subheading structure might look like this:
- H2 subheadings used to introduce parts of the list (e.g. list items belonging to a defined set of attributes or price ranges)
- H3 subheadings introduce each list item
3.2. Using schemas
Google doesn’t have clear rules on how to mark up your listings with Schema.
However, they do have loose documentation called “Carousel search results“It sounds like it’s only for classes, movies, cookbooks and restaurants.
