Adventure is no secret Search Engine Optimization means long-term engagement.
Optimization is a never-ending process.
One day, you rank high in search results—and the next, your competitor releases something new that drops you a notch.
The promise of SEO can bring traffic, revenue, and growth to your business, but many marketers give up once they start. They love commitment more than process.
In fact, this process is the key to achieving your ultimate goal in SEO.
Understand the SEO process
SEO is like fitness.
In terms of fitness, there is no shortcut playable system (i.e. your body) unless you are willing to take serious health risks.
you need to have a plan and stick to it. That means exercising, eating right, and pushing yourself to keep improving naturally.
Likewise, in SEO, there is no way to “play with the algorithm” (eg, Google) unless you want to cut corners – which I don’t recommend.
So I was surprised to learn recently on a monthly conference call that one of my large clients was impatient with the SEO process.
How can someone so successful — and someone who usually follows a process that promises more clients and cases — not understand, love, and respect the SEO process?
You cannot deliver on your promises without going through this process.
SEO (and most forms of digital marketing) is a process that, with patience and strategy, will bring you the promise of new traffic, leads, customers, revenue, and growth.
To understand the process, you must have a plan, develop a strategy, and understand all the steps in the process.
1. Audit
process
Our process always begins with a technical and/or content review.
technical audit
A sort of technical audit Absolutely look at every element on your website that can affect your SEO performance.
One of the most important of all these elements is speed.
I’ve seen many sites put a large video intro on the homepage that takes too long to load.
result?
you have one High bounce rate and lost potential customers or customers.
If they only made smaller versions of their videos or moved more relevant content above the fold, their speed and conversion rates would be much better.
Technical audits should be in-depth and take weeks to complete, depending on the site’s issues.
Content Moderation
If you have a large website with thousands of pages, it’s definitely worth making one Content Moderation.
A content audit will help you determine which pages are performing well and which are not.
You can then decide what to keep, optimize or rewrite, or remove from your site entirely.
You may see a drop in traffic as you remove content from your site – but that’s the point. You want to block irrelevant traffic.
Irrelevant traffic (i.e. visitors who don’t align with your target audience) are less likely to convert into customers or customers. In that sense, this traffic isn’t really benefiting your business.
By auditing your content, you can “cut out” the content that drives irrelevant traffic and then focus on optimizing the content that is likely to bring the best results for your business.
Then, once search engines index all of this optimized, relevant content, you should start seeing more conversions.
promise
Through a process of technical review, content review, or both, you’ll have a complete picture of everything you need to fix in order to rank well in organic search.
SEO is a difficult problem. Put the pieces together.
This is just the first step. But the first step can sometimes be the most difficult.
Now is the time to build on this momentum.
2. Technical SEO
process
to that moment Technical SEOthere are many things to consider, including:
Improving your technical SEO requires a holistic approach; addressing just one item on this list won’t really work. If you want your website to perform, you need to think about everything.
I like to use the house analogy here:
A house needs foundations, electrical, plumbing, walls and a roof. If you don’t have all these things, you don’t have a house. you have a shell.
The same goes for technical SEO. You need to get all these elements right to have an optimized website.
promise
By improving speed, functionality and user experience (UX), you may see more conversions.
This is because users will find your website easier to navigate, read and engage with.
After conducting a technical audit, you will get a list of technical obstacles that may hinder the performance of your website.
Optimizing these, you will make your site faster, easier to crawl, and better indexed by search engines.
In fact, we recently revamped a website in the brewing industry.
After fixing all the bugs, this company saw a 1,100% increase in traffic.
That’s the promise of technical SEO!
3. Keyword Research
process
Keyword research is an integral part of the SEO process.
Without keyword research, you can only guess at how users search for your business, product, or service.
Keyword Research Tools Reveals how many users are searching for a particular term, how difficult it is to rank for that term, and what other related terms people are using to find information online.
This process starts by considering hypothetical terms your target audience might use to find your business, and then uses SEO tools to validate or disprove your findings.
Researching competitor sites is another great way to discover keyword opportunities.
Finally, keyword research helps you discover geo-specific keywords to help you localize your SEO strategy.
I highly recommend reading Roger Montti’s excellent guide, How to Do Keyword Research for SEO: Everything You Need to Know.
promise
Keyword research helps you discover which keywords are most valuable to you.
Optimizing your content around high-value keywords puts you in front of potential customers or customers when they need you the most.
If people can’t find you when they’re looking for the services or products you offer, they can’t buy from you. It’s that simple.
4. Location Demographics
process
Whether you’re doing SEO for a local business or a client serving a specific region, you know how important location is.
Just like buyer personas, you need to understand how people search for local businesses and service providers, and who they are.
This means you need to make sure you have accurate NAP (name/address/phone) information and references to your service area, be it state, city or community.
claim and Optimize your Google Business Profile listing.
promise
The goal of your website is to talk to your target audience. When I say your “target audience” I mean potential customers or customers.
Demographic research will reveal a wealth of useful information about where your target audience is searching for goods, services or information. You can then use this data to inform your targeted localized SEO strategy.
Remember, Google rewards sites based on factors like relevance, distance, and prominence.
The promise of SEO at this stage is that if you provide a relevant, localized, and authoritative website experience, Google is more likely to rank your content and show it to your target audience.
5. Content Strategy
process
you need one content strategy. This is a proven strategy.
basic content
This is the core content for your main keywords and topics. Create content about your service or product (your “money” keyword).
You can further enhance this content by writing about other relevant services and products you offer and any relevant long-tail keywords.
FAQ content
Create pages to answer common questions your audience may ask using Google.
make sure it has a SEO friendly URLsYou use Bread crumbsand is more comprehensive than any other page on this topic (be sure to check out the top 10 competing pages).
authoritative content
Let your clients create content that showcases their expertise and authenticity.
user experience
Consider how to enhance your content (for example, using visual effects), your website navigation (e.g. linking to other relevant pages on your website) and calls to action (e.g. free consultation, appointment, content download).
promise
Creating purposeful content will attract the people you want to be your clients or clients.
Make it easy for people to understand who you are, what you offer, and find exactly what they’re looking for.
You’ll be rewarded with more leads and conversions!
6. Content writing and editing
process
Your clients may want to write their own content, or they may want you to.
Either way, content needs to be optimized.
always thinking about the audience or people First, but don’t ignore SEO best practices.
You want to write content that people will engage and share (and Google will index and reward with high rankings).
At the end of the day, it’s about pushing people to change.

Content is crucial when it comes to communicating your brand message to your target audience.
It also plays an important role in SEO; if optimized properly, your content can drive more organic traffic to your website.
Content also helps to show Authority, Relevance and Trust. Well-written, optimized, accurate, and authoritative content is the best way to do this.
Your content shouldn’t just be a medium for stuffing keywords into your website.
Instead, it should describe the value your business provides, how users interact with your business, and generally provide a positive experience for your potential customers.
On the other hand, poorly written content can backfire – it will send users to your competitors!
So don’t treat content as an afterthought. Be sure to invest in high-quality, optimized content.
7. Ranking
process
Well, you have no control over Google or any search engine rankings.
But, you can definitely understand How Search Algorithms Work, which helps. But never guaranteed.
That said, there is a process that works.
Great performance on everything we’ve discussed before, you should see SEO success.
- Know your audience.
- Create great content for your audience.
- Provide a great website experience for your audience.
Is it simple? Do not.
But it works!
promise
If you do everything possible to optimize your website and build your brandand you provide a great product or service, then you will inevitably get the organic search visibility you deserve.
in conclusion
“Success is a journey, not a destination.”
This saying applies to SEO as much as it does to life.
If you always focus on the end result, you will miss out on the adventure, learning and experience along the way.
Every successful SEO strategy starts with a plan. Then, it’s a matter of long-term commitment to work.
SEO is a marathon, not a sprint.
The only way to get where you want to go is to develop and follow a process. This process will evolve over time, but a proper plan is far better than “do whatever you want” as far as your SEO strategy is concerned.
You can then celebrate success at each milestone, improve your approach over time, and most importantly, enjoy the process of SEO over the life of your business.
