The last years of school are the most stressful. Children worry about their exams and what to do next after they leave. As a parent, you can help them through this journey by giving them emotional support and helping them get organized.we with a Wiltshire boarding school Share how you can do it.
Encourage them to start early
Their exams may still be a ways off, but starting their review early will put them in the best position when exam season rolls around. They will cover all the bases plus extra time to consolidate their learning and talk to their teachers about areas they are working on.
Create a schedule
While they may feel confident in what they are doing, a timeline creates a plan of action and can help them plan and manage their expectations accurately. It is unrealistic to cram everything in one week or expect to cover all course content with little time to revise. Planning ahead and allocating time to their topics accordingly will help them prevent burnout.
They can do this by asking about all their exam dates, scheduling them into their calendars and calculating how much time they need to review. Then, based on their attention constraints and free time, they can decide how much time to devote to reviewing.
borrow an ear
While it may sound like a completely different language, listening while they review their notes can help children feel more confident in their learning and review. You can even test them to help them understand if further modifications are needed.
