NORINCO Showcases Expanded UAV Product Range


China North Industries Group Corporation (NORINCO) is highlighting its latest unmanned aerial system (UAS) solutions, including fixed-wing and rotary-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and loitering munitions that can be operated independently, as part of larger groups, or jointly – Works with other weapon systems.

NORINCO’s UAV products include the Golden Eagle series of rotary-wing UAVs and the Sky Saker series of conventional or hybrid vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) fixed-wing UAVs with take-off weights from 4.4 lbs (2 kg) to 3,300 lbs (1500 kg) for personal use and squad reconnaissance, vehicle escort, artillery tactical support, air-to-ground strike, damage assessment, battlefield supply and transport, electronic warfare and communications relay.

In late 2020, China North Industries Corporation announced that it had secured an undisclosed customer for its rotary-wing Golden Eagle CR500 drone, which has coaxial rotors and can carry various payloads depending on the mission. The strike-capable drone has an endurance of up to eight hours, depending on the payload, and can also be used to deliver supplies. It also has potential applications in the civilian sector, including humanitarian aid and disaster relief operations.

NORINCO first launched its drone swarm or swarm concept in late 2018. The concept can be adapted to a variety of tactical scenarios, including the use of several MR40-series and MR150-series multi-rotor drones, equipped with search and targeting sensors and armed with a variety of weapons, including missiles and fragmentation bombs, as well as rocket munitions.

UAV swarms can be used to strike a range of targets, including soft-skinned and lightly armored vehicles, artillery systems, radars, military and storage facilities, communications hubs, aircraft shelters, and logistical support lines.

Meanwhile, NORINCO’s latest Cruise Dragon series of loitering ammunition has a combat radius from 10 kilometers to 300 kilometers. These smart weapons can be manned, tube-fired, or cannon fired to perform precise non-line-of-sight (NLOS) strikes and suppress anti-radiation systems.
