Applications now open: 2023 Virtual Executive Training on Sustainable Investing in Agriculture

Investments in agricultural land by international and domestic investors have the potential to support sustainable development.However, these projects can lead to significant social and environmental degradation. These opportunities and risks will increase as demand for agricultural land increases and host countries around the world seek to attract higher levels of investment.
Actors from the public, private and civil society sectors concerned with sustainable development face multiple challenges in shaping international agricultural investment to achieve desired outcomes. These challenges include developing sound legal and financial frameworks, negotiating fair deals, mitigating environmental impacts and protecting human rights.
This 2023 Executive Training on Sustainable Investing in Agriculturehosted by Columbia Center for Sustainable Investment (CCSI), which will address these issues and more.This Virtual training will be held May 2-12, 2023. The interdisciplinary programme outlines pressing issues related to agricultural investment and introduces relevant practical skills.
In addition to interactive, live training sessions led by Columbia faculty, CCSI’s research team and sustainability practitioners, the training provided an opportunity for dialogue among peers from government, civil society and the private sector from around the world.
CCSI is accept applications here On a rolling basis until March 15, 2023. Applicants are encouraged to apply early to increase the likelihood of being accepted.
Representatives of civil society organizations (must be registered as non-profit organizations in your jurisdiction) and government officials from low- and middle-income countries will be exempt from the program fee. The $500 program fee applies to all other participants.
