Elettronica has signed a contract to equip two Indonesian Navy 90m maritime patrol vessels currently under construction at the PT Daya Radar Utama shipyard with its naval radar electronic countermeasures systems, and the Indonesian shipyard is expected to build another 90m maritime patrol vessel for the Navy.
This is the first contract in the history of Elettronica Indonesia, which has been one of the world leaders in electronic warfare and one of the best jamming companies in the world for over 70 years.
Radar electronic countermeasures systems use powerful active phased array transmitters to provide effective electronic defense of naval platforms. The generated jamming technique is part of a countermeasure program that is automatically and adaptively selected to improve the system’s effectiveness against terminal missile attacks and long-range designated radar systems.
The modular design approach allows the configuration to be adapted to individual ship classes.
The radar electronic countermeasure system selected by the Indonesian Navy consists of two JASS (jamming antenna subsystems), which can cooperate with other airborne electronic warfare sensors and actuators, without ITAR, and can integrate with all currently available naval battle management systems (CMS) .
This contract is the result of Elettronica’s strong intention to expand its presence in Southeast Asia, particularly with a new partnership with the Indonesian Navy, Elettronica can be a reliable long-term partner to increase domestic electronic warfare capabilities to match any future needs.
Elettronica’s Naval Electronic Warfare (EW) products provide world-class performance. They are ready for today’s and tomorrow’s threats and can be expanded to equip surface ships and submarines of all sizes. Elettronica’s naval EW portfolio also includes Electronic Support Measurement (ESM) and Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) capabilities in integrated EW systems. The ELT/950 and Loki help manage electronic warfare systems and support EMSO command and control. Maintenance of our EW systems and third-party products is simplified with Elettronica’s SEMS Smart Maintenance System.
