Funding Opportunities for Spring 2023 Student Travel
After a three-year hiatus, Columbia Climate Schools has announced the resumption of its student travel grant program.
Travel grant funding is designed to support students’ continued learning by helping to facilitate field trips in the areas of climate change, sustainable development and the environment. This research must be related to the project for which the student will receive credit for the Columbia University degree program. Travel grants are awarded for different types of projects, including studio courses, graduate capstones, dissertations, senior seminar projects and independent research, among others. This fund may not be used to support travel to the symposium/conference. Students may apply individually or in groups of up to four, and receive up to $750 in aid for individuals and up to $2,000 in groups.
All sponsored students will be invited to participate in the spring student research showcase, hosted by The Climate School. As part of this presentation, students provided a summary of their findings. The event offers students a unique opportunity to publicize their research.
who should apply
Columbia and Barnard undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students currently engaged in research related to climate, sustainability and the environment may apply to the program. Students must be in good academic standing at the time of submission to be considered. Projects must be relevant to the Columbia University student’s degree program. There must be a faculty advisor working with individual students. The advisor should be a lecturer of record at Columbia University in the same field of study as the research project.
