Tips for Cooking Frozen Cauliflower Rice
Making frozen cauliflower fried rice is easy, but here are some tips to give it the same texture as fresh cauliflower rice:
- Break the bag into pieces before opening it. The easiest way is to toss the bag on the counter a few times. It's also a great release if you've had a bad day. 😉
- Do not thaw before cooking. Freezer cooking produces better texture and saves time.
- Cook uncovered over medium-high heat. Cooking over low heat or covering will cause the cauliflower to steam, which will make the frozen cauliflower rice more moist.
- Don't overcook. It will make the rice too soft and taste unsightly.
- You can make a double or triple batch. Feel free to make batches! If you make more, the cooking time may need to be a little longer since thawing takes longer.
Storage instructions
- Shop: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat: Place in a skillet over medium heat or place in a covered dish and heat for about a minute, stirring occasionally.
- freeze: I don't recommend refreezing this rice, but it is possible. Cool the cooked cauliflower rice completely, then store in an airtight container or freezer bag and return to the refrigerator.
