Earlier this year, a similar incident occurred on the same interstate highway. A man from Zephyrhills, Florida died on February 15 after an FHP soldier said he was hit while repairing a flat tire.
According to the report, the 24-year-old man was driving south from the I-75 exit ramp into US 301 in Hillsboro County. Ford Mustang got an apartment. When he was hit by the driver of a Ford F-150, he drove the car along the shoulder of the road and was walking to the passenger side to check the tires.
According to the press release, the 27-year-old driver of the Ford truck failed to keep the lane because he drove out of the same exit and collided with the Mustang and its driver.
The Zephyrhills man was taken to the district hospital, where he died from his injuries. FHP said the pickup truck driver was not injured in the accident.
Due to the department’s interpretation of Massifah, the highway patrol did not release the names of any personnel involved in the February incident. The law is an amendment to the Florida Constitution approved by voters to protect victims of crime, but it also restricts the disclosure of information previously available under the state’s public records laws.
