10 snack ideas for diabetics


Try these quick, healthy foods as a snack in the morning, afternoon, or evening.

Snacks can be an important part of a person’s day, especially for people with diabetes. Skipping or delaying meals can cause blood sugar to collapse or even spike! Spikes can happen because people with diabetes may overeating after hypoglycemia, or their bodies just want them to compensate for the calories they missed. You can avoid high or low blood sugar levels by planning and preparing healthy snacks in advance. Healthy snacks contain almost no added sugars and contain carbohydrates, fiber, protein, and healthy fats, as this helps stabilize blood sugar levels.

Here are 10 snack ideas for people with diabetes:

#1: Fruit and yogurt

Fruit is considered a nutritious carbohydrate food because it is an important source of fiber, potassium, vitamin A and C.
