A scenic plane crashed in southeastern Alaska, killing all six people on board. The U.S. Coast Guard said Thursday that the plane crashed in the Misty Fjords National Monument area near Ketchikan.
The wreckage of the plane was first discovered by a helicopter company in the area. Coast guard Arrived. Two rescue swimmers were landed by a helicopter to the scene to search for survivors. However, no one on board was found alive.
The identities of the victims in the crash were not immediately announced.
Holland America wrote on Twitter that there were five guests on the plane. As of Thursday, the cause of the crash was unclear.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said on Twitter that a team of investigators will be sent to the scene on Friday to investigate the crash.
