“Many people examine intimacy under pressure and use them to think about the notion of freedom and obligation, or what makes us human. What resonates in particular during the pandemic is that all these books have important content about the nature of the community. , From the tiny and hidden cyberspace to the immeasurable vast cyberspace.
“Locked reading fosters a strong sense of connection with books and a common cause between the judges. The shortlist of the six books will be announced on September 14th, and the winners will be announced on November 3.
The winner will receive £50,000 and is expected to see their book on the bestseller list.
Previous winners include Iris Murdoch, Salman Rushdie and Hilary Mantel.
