The catastrophic incident occurred on Sunday in Batseri, a village in the Sangla Valley in Himachal Pradesh. A landslide occurred on one of the slopes of the valley, and huge car-sized boulders rolled onto the bridge across the river below.
A video recorded by an eyewitness showed the landslide rushing down the opposite slope of the valley. When the dusty disaster rushed down the mountain within a few seconds, several people could be heard whistling and shouting warnings.
The boulder rolled down from the slope at the top of the landslide, hit the steep cliff, and hit the buildings, cars and bridges below. A particularly large boulder hit the outcrop and flew through the air, then took it out of the corner of the building.
The people who filmed the video watched inside the building, and the dust swept across the shore, covering up the damage caused by the boulders. A huge boulder flew out of the cloud suddenly, hit near the center of the bridge, split it in half, and fell into the river.
