Officials say violence broke out outside the Pentagon, police officers died and suspects were killed-News


On Tuesday, a police officer was stabbed to death during a violent incident at a transit station outside the police station. Pentagon, Officials said a suspect in the incident was shot dead by law enforcement and died on the spot.

According to officials who were not authorized to discuss the matter, the Pentagon, the US military headquarters, was temporarily sealed off after shooting near the building’s entrance on Tuesday morning. A stabbed Pentagon policeman later died. Accepted an interview with the Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

According to the Pentagon Protection Forces Protection Bureau, the incident occurred on a subway bus stop in the Pentagon Transportation Center, just a few steps away from the Pentagon.The facility is a short walk from the Pentagon Building in Arlington County, Virginia, across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C.

An Associated Press reporter near the building heard multiple shots, then paused, then fired at least one more shot. Another Associated Press reporter heard the police yell “Shooter”.

A Pentagon statement stated that the facility was under lockdown due to “police activity.” The Pentagon Force Protection Agency, the agency responsible for building security, said on Twitter shortly before noon that the scene of the incident was safe. The blockade has been lifted except for the area surrounding the crime scene.

At the time of the shooting, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, were meeting with President Joe Biden at the White House.

In 2010, when a gunman approached them in the security check zone, two officials of the Pentagon Force Protection Bureau were injured. The surviving police officer fired back, killing the gunman John Patrick Biddle.
