Boris Johnson Declined the invitation to meet with the Scots First minister With SNP leaders at Bute House, her official residence in Edinburgh.
When the Prime Minister began a two-day trip north of the border, Ms. Sturgeon said that she did not feel “out of the cold” but claimed that it was a “missed opportunity.”
Her comments came after Mr. Johnson stated that he was “eager” to meet with Ms. Sturgeon.
But in a letter to her, he said that this should be done in “a structured forum to allow continuous contact between the government and the decentralized government to achieve tangible results that are in the interests of the British people.”
Ms. Sturgeon told the broadcaster: “I don’t feel left out. I think most people would think it’s a bit weird, a bit weird. We had a Prime Minister who visited Scotland and he correctly talked about the need-despite our political differences- Let’s cooperate as much as possible about getting through Covid and getting into Covid recovery, but when we were in Scotland, we didn’t seize the opportunity to come and talk to me directly about how we cooperate and cooperate.
“I think people think this is weird, and I think Boris Johnson should explain why.
“Considering Covid, this will be the first time we sit down, maintain proper social distancing, and have face-to-face conversations. I think this will be a great opportunity.
“I am preparing to welcome him to Bit House today. Boris Johnson and I disagree at all in many ways, but the government we both lead is trying to get our country through Covid, so we have a lot to work with. .
“So, you know, missed the opportunity, but it depends on him.
“I am ready to work with anyone at any time, but I can let Scotland survive the COVID-19 pandemic and recover.”
