Bill Gates Discussed his divorce Melinda Frank Gates said in an interview with CNN on Wednesday that after the divorce, the two will work hard to continue cooperating on their foundation.
inside Interview with Anderson Cooper, Gates said that he and his ex-wife will continue to work for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which fights infectious diseases and poverty.
“Melinda is a great person, and the partnership we are about to end is a source of great personal grief,” Gates says“We are communicating and working at the foundation, so we will try and continue this partnership.”
He added: “We have always enjoyed working together. The two of us can go out and work with leaders to help build the organization, so this is definitely the best thing for the foundation.”
The foundation announced in early July that the former couple will enter a two-year trial period to see if they can continue to cooperate. If they find that they can’t do it, Gates of France will resign as co-chairman of the foundation and let Gates take full responsibility.

The 27-year marriage of the two officially ended on Monday. Gates told CNN that this is “a very sad milestone.”
