On Saturday, Palm Beach County Interim Superintendent Mike Burke announced that masks will be mandatory on buildings and buses in the next school year. “Parents and guardians, I heard the enthusiasm of both parties in this debate during the school board meeting,” Burke said in a statement on authorization. “I also read your information via email. I have considered all your opinions. However, I must make a decision to protect the health and well-being of our students and staff.”
Burke added that he will review the authorization every 30 days to see if it should be revised or cancelled altogether.

Schools in Hillsboro County, home of Tampa, Florida’s third largest city, also issued a similar authorization. Superintendent Addison Davis (Addison Davis) announced the news on Saturday, after he had previously stated that he was considering the issue.
