Melissa Benoist bid farewell to the actors and staff of “Supergirl” because the series ended in the sixth and final season.
Benoist, who has been leading the CW series since its premiere in October 2015, shared a set of photos Instagram Friday, and thank her actors and everyone who has worked on the show for the past six seasons.
“Thank you for having an incredible 6 years-being an actor in your family, everyone who participated in the show, and everyone who watched our show every week [three red heart emoji],” the 32-year-old actress wrote next to a photo of her and other actors David Harwood and Keller Leigh in full superhero costumes.
Benoist added, “This is a summary of @supergirlcw.”
Fans and followers were full of love and praise for Benoist, and sent her congratulatory messages for the success of the series.
“Oh, congratulations baby is so exciting, what a great journey,” David Stanwell commented.
“Nice work!” Javisia Leslie added. “Congratulations, you are beautiful,” Ruby Rose wrote.
At the same time, her co-star expressed their pride in Benoist and said that they are happy to be a member of the “Supergirl”.
“Love you and everyone very much! Congratulations to my friend, I am proud to know you!” wrote Odette Annable, who played Samantha Rias, aka. Reign, in season 3.
“Love you very much! What an amazing performance to participate in, and what an incredible actor to work with,” commented Jenna Dewan, who played Lucy Lane.
Esme Bianco wrote: “My dear, I love you so much.”
In her Instagram story, Benoist also shared a masked selfie of himself wearing a super-dress. “Farewell to this glyph,” she wrote above the iconic logo. The S shield is not only the family crest of the Al House, but also a symbol of hope for the series.
Kara Danvers actress also shared Leigh’s post features their photos and messages, “@melissabenoist I will always [red heart emoji] you. “Leigh’s younger sister, Alex Danvers, who played her role in the play.
As early as March, Benoist worked with Entertainment Weekly About the last season of the series. According to her, they agreed that it was time to end the story of Supergirl.
“Yes, I think we all came to this conclusion. We are very proud of what we have achieved in the past five years, nearly six years,” she told EW. “This is a journey like this: change the network, change the city we shoot, change the night we broadcast. We have experienced a lot in this show, and I think we can all take a step back creatively and say that we are really what we are. I am proud of everything I have done, and it feels like the time has come.”
Season 6 of “Supergirl” will return on CW on Tuesday, August 24.
