A 19 year old Minnesota A woman was arrested in Florida on suspicion of helping a Republican strategist engage in underage sex trafficking programs.
On Thursday night, Gisela Castro Medina was detained somewhere in the Florida Panhandle because of her involvement in a human trafficking program Anton LazaroAccording to the “Daily Beast” report, he was arrested in Minneapolis earlier in the day. She was classified as a “fugitive” and was transferred to the care of the Okaloosa County Sheriff on Friday.
Both Medina and Lazzaro face the same accusations: sex trafficking minors, attempted sex trafficking and obstruction of justice. Medina is accused of helping Lazaro recruit young women and, in some cases, underage women for paid sex.

Lazaro had helped fund a handful of Republican political candidates in Minnesota. He allegedly planned a plan to recruit young women to engage in sex for money. He was allegedly helped by Medina. The Daily Beast quoted an indictment against him saying that he recruited five women and tried to pressure another woman. Lazzaro’s colleagues told online publications that he was also related to the 18-year-old woman introduced to him by Medina.
In the same indictment, Medina was accused of trying to obstruct a federal investigation in March 2021. “Daily Beast” reported that her name appeared in the indictment against Lazzaro, but was deleted in the public version. She is expected to appear in federal court soon.
According to online information, Medina is a student living in St. Paul, Minnesota. She studied at the University of St. Thomas and worked for a property management company.She is also the chairman of the University Chapter of the College of Minnesota Republicans.
“As an organization, we were absolutely disgusted by Ms. Medina’s behavior and immediately severed all contact with her,” Minnesota Republican Chairman Nia Moore said in a statement to Daily Beast. “We pray for the victims of Anton Lazzaro and Gisela Medina-we trust you. We stand with you. May justice be done.”
