ASELSAN’s mortar conversion solution provides enhancements to traditional mortars: high first round hit rate, easy to use, high maneuverability, mission programmable, configurable and modular structure.
ALKAR transforms the traditional 81mm and 120mm mortars into highly accurate, mobile and automatic mortar solutions that users can operate with only limited effort. It replaces the time-consuming and laborious process of direction finding, alignment and laying. This is achieved through an automatic fire control system that collects information from meteorological sensors, inertial navigation systems, and front observers through digital communications and calculates ballistic data; so that the mortar can be accurately pointed to the target.
ALKAR offers two main configurations, which can be integrated on military vehicles or used as a fixed solution. It provides automatic ammunition loading, on-demand electronic trigger and muzzle velocity radar, and continuously corrects the data after each round to increase the probability of hitting in the first round. The local recoil mechanism developed through intensive research and development activities makes it even possible to install on 4×4 light armored vehicles for faster shooting and taxiing operations, while hiding the mortar under the roof hatch of the vehicle. ALKAR can also be configured as a fixed mortar for base or area protection. This function greatly improves the efficiency of the mortar through fast and accurate aiming, and only one mortar can complete the task of the mortar company.
ALKAR includes a graphical user interface that displays battlefield information and allows targets to be selected on a digital map. Thanks to the use of ALKAR, operators only need one day of training to start using it on the battlefield.
