Elon Musk announced that his electric car company Tesla is making a humanoid robot called “Tesla Robot.”
The robot was unveiled on Tesla Artificial Intelligence Day and will run on the same artificial intelligence as Tesla’s self-driving cars, and is designed to perform repetitive daily, boring and even dangerous tasks. Musk said that robots will change the world economy by reducing labor costs, although he admitted that it “may not work in the beginning.”
“Of course it’s for friendship,” he said, according to NBC Finance Channel.
“I think the real difficulty of having a useful humanoid robot is that it cannot navigate a world without clear training and clear line-by-line instructions,” Musk explained. Hill.
“Can you talk to it and say,’Please pick up that bolt and use that wrench to connect it to the car. It should be able to do this. It should be able, you know,” Please go to the store and get me the following groceries “Something like that. So yes, I think we can do this,” he added.
“Essentially, in the future, manual labor will be an option. If you want to do this, you can, but you don’t need to do it,” Musk says.
The robot is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 125 pounds, and will be made of “lightweight materials.” The humanoid robot has a screen, its head is used to display useful information, and an autopilot camera. The purpose of the robot is to allow humans to escape or suppress it.
“Hope this won’t happen, but you never know,” Musk joked.
Musk said that the prototype will be unveiled later next year.
