For Flora Duffy of Bermuda and Kristian Blummenfelt of Norway, the situation is not much better.
On Saturday, Duffy and Blumenfeldt became the first triathletes to win the world championship and Olympic champion in the same year by virtue of their results in the World Triathlon Finals in Edmonton.
Duffy’s third place in the women’s final was enough to ensure that she won the world championship with a total of 375 points, which was her third record-breaking championship.
American Tyler Nibb won the championship with a time of 1 hour, 54 minutes and 47 seconds, leading the French player Leonie Perio.
As a result, Knibb finished second overall, while fellow American Taylor Spivey, who ranked fifth in Edmonton, finished third.
In the triathlon event held in Tokyo last month, Duffy won the Olympic gold medal for Bermuda.
Two-time Olympian Amelie Kretz (Amelie Kretz) was unable to compete due to injury.
Just a few hours after Duffy became the first triathlete to achieve this achievement, Blumenfeldt joined her.

The Norwegian crossed the finish line first in the men’s final in Edmonton with 1:44:14 to win the world championship.
He narrowly defeated Marten Van Riel of Belgium, who finished second in the competition and overall standings and won the silver medal.
The British player Alex Yee, who ranked first in the rankings, was ranked 11th on Saturday and third overall.
Matthew Sharp from Victoria, British Columbia, ranked 33rd, crossing the finish line in 1:52.57. Jeremy Briand of Quebec did not finish the game.
