Some European countries still do not accept National Health Service Coronavirus disease Passed due to delay U.K and European UnionThe system has been announced.
The e-pass has not been synchronized with the EU’s IT system for tracking the status of vaccination. Guardian report.
According to reports, the British government is still waiting for the approval of its application to connect to the system.
It is understood that after the application was submitted on July 28, “the British government’s application to Brussels has loopholes” led to the shelving.
Once the further technical information required by the EU is provided, it will allow the NHS Covid certificate to be linked to the EU system.
This means that UK holidaymakers and travelers will be able to provide valid vaccination certificates in the 27 EU member states.
However, only about 19 EU countries have officially accepted the NHS Covid Pass as a vaccination certificate, including popular resorts such as Spain and France.
Hungary is one of the countries where British people may not be able to use their vaccine passports because it only accepts locally issued immunization certificates as proof of the vaccine status of British Airways passengers.
At the same time, tourists from Italy, Latvia and the Czech Republic have all reported problems using the app as a proof of vaccine status.
The UK government seems to be the only country that has difficulty accessing the EU’s IT system, although applications from other non-EU countries such as Turkey and Switzerland have been accepted.
A spokesperson for the UK government said: “We have applied for the Digital Covid Certificate (DCC) program linked to the European Union. We expect that the EU’s technical evaluation of our DCC application will take several weeks, just like the situation in Switzerland and other countries.
“We have had a good technical exchange with the European Commission on our application. While considering the application, member states can still individually decide to accept the British Covid certificate.”
