This year’s MTV Music Video Awards will be hosted by Doja Cat. The 25-year-old performer will announce music videos and performances, and will share some of her music on stage at the same time. This will mark the first time she has hosted a performance.

The singer is no stranger to VMA. She won the Moon Person Best Newcomer Award in 2020 and mixed her songs “Say So” and “Like That” during the TV broadcast.
Other performers who will join Doja cat on VMA will be Camila Cabello, Chlöe, Lil Nas X, Lorde, Machine Gun Kelly, Shawn Mendes and Olivia Rodrigo.
A new surprise for VMA this year also includes Newly designed moon man statue For awards.
“This year’s awards will showcase the lunar man statue redesigned by artist Kehinde Wiley for the first time. They will also organize a series of activities in cooperation with non-profit organizations on 9/11 to commemorate the victims of the 9/11 attacks to improve people’s awareness of the surroundings. 20th anniversary of environmental awareness and positive action,” according to Music TV.
Doja Cat will also make VMS history with five VMA nominations. This will be the first time a host has also been nominated for multiple videos. The other top-nominated artists were Justin Bieber, who received seven nominations, and Megan Thee Stallion, who received six nominations.
BTS, Billie Eilish, Giveon, Drake, Lil Nas X and Olivia Rodrigo and Doja Cat tied for five nominations.
The show will be aired on September 12th at 8 p.m. Eastern Time and will be held at the Barclays Center in New York.
