Paul Zhang
Veteran journalist Paul Cheung was appointed CEO of the Center for Public Integrity, the first Asian American to lead the investigative non-profit news organization.
Previously, Cheung worked at the Knight Foundation, where he managed a multi-million dollar investment portfolio to expand artificial intelligence, improve business sustainability and reduce misinformation, and served as director of news and technology innovation.
“As an immigrant, I have experienced the traps and promises of the United States. I have a direct understanding of the real-life impact of existing systems that have caused unfairness for a long time, and I am committed to making them fairer through groundbreaking and innovative investigative journalism,” Zhang Say.
Cheung holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from New York University and has taught at Columbia University, where he is also a Punch Sulzberger Media Executive Leadership Fellow.
