Islamic State claims it was behind the deadly explosion at Kabul Airport: Report-The Nation

The organization’s Amak News Agency said on its Telegram channel that the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the deadly attack outside Kabul’s airport on Thursday.

A suicide bomber from an Islamic militant group “managed to contact a large group of translators and collaborators from the U.S. military at the “Baran Camp” near the Kabul airport, and detonated his explosive belt in it, killing approximately 60 People, more than 100 people were injured, including Taliban fighters,” it said.

Pentagon officials blamed the organization for the deadly attack, also known as the Islamic State Khorasan in Afghanistan.

Officials said Thursday that the death toll from the explosion is still expected to rise, but it is estimated that at least 140 people were injured and 72 people died, including American personnel.
