On Wednesday morning, a Tennessee man had an unorthodox and undoubtedly painful reaction to being chased by the police.
According to reports, Tyson Gilbert, 39, of Cookeville, Tennessee, severed his penis and threw it out the window of his Honda Accord while escaping from the police. When the police found him partially parked in traffic on Highway 70 near the town of Dowelltown, the hunt began. In an interview with radio station WLJE, Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) Trooper Bobby Johnson said that when the police initially tried to signal him with their lights, the man took off.
Officials eventually hunted Gilbert in two counties from Dowelltown to Lebanon. Along the way, he managed to cut off his penis. At some point during the chase, he turned to a small road and opened the car door, allowing the police to catch a glimpse of his bizarre and crazy state.

“He has been on the road,” Johnson said. “He turned off on the Old Freedom Road and stopped. He opened the door. He was naked and covered in blood. Then he closed the door and continued driving.”
The police finally slowed him down with a nail strip, then locked him inside and ended the hunt. But tried several times.
