- President Jovenel Moise was killed by a suspected mercenary in his home on July 7.
- Moise’s wife Martine was injured in the attack.
- Martin came out to call on the international community to help track down those responsible for the attack.
The widow of President Giovinel Moise in Haiti called on the international community to help track down those who shot and killed her husband in July at the couple’s home in a late night attack by a suspected mercenary.
The assassination of Moise further plunged the Caribbean country, which was already plagued by hunger and gang violence, into chaos and triggered the hunt for the mastermind of the Americas.
After being injured in the attack, Martine Moise, wearing a black dress and suspenders, told Reuters in a room on either side of the bodyguard on Monday that although the Haitian authorities had made some progress, she was worried about the progress. Slow down.
“I think the process… is a bit stagnant,” she said. “The people doing this are still there. I don’t know if their names will be made public. Every country that can help, please help.”

Nearly two months after her husband was assassinated on July 7, the key aspects of the murder are still shrouded in mystery. Haitian police arrested more than three dozen suspects, including 18 Colombian mercenaries, an unnamed Haitian-American doctor who they said aspires to become president, and the head of the Moise security team.
But they rarely disclose the evidence.
Moise told Reuters:
Those people (they have been arrested) did it, but someone gave an order and someone paid.
She said she had talked with the FBI twice and felt they could “find someone who funded that heinous crime.”
As security issues have been plagued by investigations in Haiti, a judge investigating the case resigned on the grounds that he was worried about his safety.
First lady Moise said that Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry is now also dealing with the consequences of the August earthquake that killed more than 2,000 people. He must call for elections to be held as soon as possible to ensure stability.
“I think my husband will give him a suggestion (yes) to try an election. Through the election, you can have peace and you can think about the long-term,” she said.
The elections originally scheduled for September have been postponed to November, and some speculate that they may be postponed further after the earthquake.
“If they want to hold elections, (they) will,” Moise said.

Moise confirmed her previous comments in an interview that she was interested in running for president, but said she would take care of her family first.
she says:
I want to run for president. I will not let the president’s vision die with him. Due to the earthquake, Haiti still has a lot of work to do.
Haiti Rumor Factory
In the ongoing investigations and arrests, conspiracy theories about the murder in Haiti have been circulating for weeks.
A friend of the murdered president told Reuters that he was worried about his life before he was killed.
His wife said on Monday that he had not talked to her about a specific conspiracy against him.
“If he knew he would talk about it…but he never did,” she said. “Because there are Colombians and soldiers in Haiti, they are here for something.”
She denied rumors on social media that Moyes kept millions of cash in his mansion in the upscale suburb of Petionville.
“It’s the president. There is some money. But the $48 million I heard on social media cannot be true. Where in the room (can you hold on) $48 million?”
