DeAndre Jordan signs with the Lakers after reaching a buyout agreement with the Pistons: report

The Brooklyn Nets finally found an NBA trading partner for veteran center DeAndre Jordan in the Detroit Pistons. However, this seems to be just a temporary stop, and it is reported that the All-Star center intends to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.

This news comes from Adrian Wojnarowski ESPNHe quoted an unnamed source as saying that Jordan will go to Los Angeles after the formal buyout with the Detroit Pistons.

Wernarowski said in another article that the Nets will take Jordan along with their own 2022 and 2027 second-round picks, the 2024 second-round picks of the Washington Wizards and the 2025 Golden State Warriors. The second round draft pick was sent to the Pistons. report, Citing an unnamed source.

In return, Brooklyn received Jalil Okafor and forward Seku Dumbuya on Friday. After the transaction is completed, the Nets will save approximately $47 million in salary and taxes.

According to reports, Detroit plans to buy out Jordan’s remaining two-year contract, valued at approximately $19.7 million.

Jordan will return $4 million in the buyout contract, Shams Chalanya Sports meeting Report.

It officially ended the 6-foot-11-inch center’s tenure. According to reports, he discussed the buyout with the Nets management. Brooklyn did not agree with this, but looked for a potential trading partner-the result was the Pistons.

Jordan signed a four-year, $40 million contract with the Nets in 2019-around the same time, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving also signed their contracts.

Once the buyout plan with the Pistons is finalized, the Lakers can get Jordan and add him to a stacked roster, although he must first obtain an exemption to become a free agent.

As mentioned before postalIn recent weeks, the 33-year-old player has been associated with the Purple Golden Army. But the only way the Lakers can get Jordan is for a buyout to happen. The reason for this is that Los Angeles is not financially flexible, and most of its resources are related to top stars LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook.

As Los Angeles continues to fill its roster with mature players, Jordan’s upcoming addition is expected to cause criticism again.

The performance of the All-Star center has dropped significantly, but experts believe that if he is placed in a new system, all of this may change.

Once officially, Jordan will become the newest big man in the group. The others are Davis, Dwight Howard and Marc Gasol.
