A woman in Michigan became a millionaire overnight after winning the state’s sweepstakes, which gave all people who had received at least one injection Coronavirus vaccine.
Christine Duval from Bloomfield Township won a total of US$2 million (R28.6 million) in the lottery program, which was launched in July to increase vaccination rates in the state.
Duval quit her full-time job last year to help her daughter with distance learning. She said winning the money “will help us realize all our dreams.” Associated Press Report. She was vaccinated in April.
The mother said that she will use the money for the college education of her three children and transform the family home. She also said that she will donate part of it to improve mental health services.
According to the Associated Press, she said: “We are really lucky and want to give back to those in need. The pandemic is difficult for everyone, and we believe that the need for services that promote positive mental health care is more than ever. Are more important.”
The program is called “I Shoot to winlottery,” from July 1 to July 30, and won many other awards, including a prize of 1 million US dollars (14.3 million rand) and a daily drawing of 50,000 US dollars (716,000 rand).
