Timothy Noah The New Republic reported on the threat of the defunct blood testing company Theranos on the Wall Street Journal and wanted to know that other news organizations would be under such pressure.
Noah wrote: “In the United States, how many news organizations are even considering publishing stories like this and will be in financial position? I counted three or four: Magazine (Full disclosure: I am a proud journalism alumnus), The New York Times, The Washington Post, maybe Los Angeles Times. Of course it is not a TV network or cable news channel.maybe not this New Yorker, This has taken Holmes by surprise Ken Oletta profile.
“Many news organizations can withstand the threat of defamation after a report is published, but few news organizations can withstand the aggressive legal bullying that Theranos suffers even before the text is published. Carreyrou reports Bad blood Theranos hired investigators who could identify and intimidate multiple background sources for his story. They insisted on their position, but this is likely to be another way, frustrating Carreyrou’s efforts to include the story in the newspaper.
“We now know about Theranos’ bullying, and in that sense, of course, it failed. But what about bullying that we haven’t heard of? Holmes, Balwani, Boies, and Theranos didn’t invent their strategies to suppress the truth. We This kind of bullying is rarely heard because it is usually effective.
