The company announced on Tuesday that Hulu will increase the price of each on-demand subscription plan by $1.00.
According to a report TechCrunchThe company’s most popular plan, the $5.99 per month ad support branch, will increase in price to $6.99 per month starting on October 8. Similarly, the current ad-free version of $11.99 per month will also start charging $12.99. This change will not affect the bundles that provide users with access to Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+, but it still costs $14.00.
Hulu was initially considered to be one of the more affordable on-demand platforms, but now subscribers have reacted a little angry, and they expressed their dissatisfaction with this change on Twitter.
Hulu increased the price, but for the love of God, will they eventually lower the volume of the ad? ! pic.twitter.com/ntVKfrrs5G

It’s not that hulu raises their prices… They also know that I’m going to pay, I need the background noise from my American dad pic.twitter.com/2qYdUPHYDi

I know it won’t be long before Hulu pulls this action. If you raise prices again from Hulu or Netflix, I will look for other things without hesitation. pic.twitter.com/IZE5Z9DbrK

This change also occurred on individual Disney+ and ESPN+ platforms. After the company acquired Hulu by purchasing Comcast shares in 2019, all three platforms are under Disney’s umbrella. The reason for increasing the price of a single service is unclear, although some have pointed out that bundles may therefore be more attractive to subscribers.
However, deadline The report said that another reason for the increase was Disney’s decision to add thousands of original Bollywood and Hotstar works to the platform, and the conversion of Indian Premier League cricket to ESPN+.
This move was also made after the company increased the price of its Live service in 2020.The bundle will rise to $64.99 per month in December 2020
