Britney Spears’ father applies for termination of supervision

Second

Ritney Spears‘The father has applied to end the supervision of the singer’s 13-year life.

In an unexpected development, he said that the situation has changed in recent months.

“If Ms. Spears wants to terminate supervision and believe she can handle her life, Mr. Spears thinks she deserves that opportunity,” the petition to terminate the legal arrangement wrote.

Mr. Spears stated in a court document that he believes that judges should “consider seriously now whether such supervision is no longer needed.”

Britney, 39, spent several months seeking to remove her father from being the overseer of her $60 million estate, calling the arrangement abusive and humiliating.

The judge responsible for overseeing the case, Brenda Penny, will need to approve this move, which will be discussed at a hearing on September 29.

The second guardian is still in charge of Britney’s personal and medical affairs.

The latest petition goes a step further than previous attempts, requiring the court to completely terminate supervision.

The document stated: “Ms. Spears has recently shown a certain degree of independence, which raises questions about whether the person’s protector is needed.”

It also pointed out that Britney had hired a lawyer of her own choice and was driving alone again.

In 2008, the “Baby One More Time” singer was placed under supervision after suffering a public mental health breakdown.

The following year, she returned to the spotlight, recording multiple albums and conducting a sold-out world tour until her last performance at the end of 2018.

Britney often posts on the Instagram page of her mansion outside of Los Angeles, but she did not mention her father’s petition on Tuesday.
