A sort of Vancouver The man said that on Wednesday he was almost run over by a vehicle driving through the city center, felling trees, and almost hit some pedestrians.
Andrew Pace said he was walking his dog on Pacific Boulevard around 11 a.m. when an SUV suddenly appeared.
“He is basically running laps, which is the craziest driving you can do,” Pace said.
Pace said the SUV “burned out” before the driver pointed the vehicle directly at him.
“He stepped on the gas and tried to hit me,” he said.
“He flew directly to me. I took my two dogs with me. Thankfully, the curb actually moved the car a little bit, plus I jumped away, making him miss about six inches. I barely let it. My dog is leaving.”
Pace said the car continued to drive along the sidewalk, caught a tree, and almost hit a person walking with a stroller on the sidewalk.
“Then he lost the wheel, and then he drove on the rim with a tire, and then continued to drive along the sidewalk. People were hiding.”
A group of construction workers were also almost chopped down, and then the vehicle stopped at the construction site.
Vancouver police confirmed that a car drove into a construction site in the area. The police said that alcohol may be a factor.
The police said there were no reports of any injuries.
