Facility officials said that on Friday, the US Air Force base was completely cleared and the four-hour blockade was lifted after reports of active shooters.

Installation commander Colonel Patrick Miller told local media WHIOTV that two people reported hearing a gunshot at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, prompting a search.

“At the end of the night, we found no threat,” Miller said.

The official account of the base tweeted shortly before 02:00 that they had “cleared all. The blockade has been lifted.”

Miller added that during the incident, about 100 people set themselves in the room.

According to WHIOTV, the speakers of the facility-which have been loud and noisy for several hours and can be heard outside the base-play full unvoiced sound.
