Monk Fruit vs. Sugar
Monk fruit is a substitute for sugar. But why replace sugar in the first place?
On the one hand, sugar is not low carbohydrate or keto-friendly. Eating added sugars (such as sucrose or high-fructose corn syrup) can inhibit the fat burning state called ketosis.
Why? Because eating sugar will increase blood sugar and insulin levels. In turn, high insulin levels will send a clear message to your cells: “It’s time to store fat!”.3

Researchers have not studied Luo Han Guo as extensively as other low-carbohydrate sweeteners such as stevia and erythritol, but research that does exist is promising.
