The Bavarian Red Cross said on Saturday that a high-speed train in Germany was attacked with knives, causing three serious injuries.
According to the police, a man was arrested in the morning assault at the Seubersdorf train station, where the train is currently stopped. The police said many people were injured, but could not provide a specific number.
The train in question was one of Germany’s high-speed ICE trains, which was travelling between the Bavarian cities of Regensburg and Nuremberg at the time of the attack.
The Bavarian Red Cross had 110 responders at the scene, and its spokesperson stated that the organization had dealt with three “seriously injured” people who had been sent to the local clinic.
A spokesperson for the Red Cross said that between 200 and 300 people were taken from the train and are now receiving treatment in nearby places.
The local police told the Associated Press that they received a call about the attack at around 9 am local time.

The Interior Minister Horst Seehofer said that the background behind the “horrible” attack was “still unclear” and “clarification is now under way.” He said that people in Seubersdorf, about 473 kilometers (294 miles) south of Berlin, are not facing “acute danger”.
Siehofer said: “I hope that those who have been injured and those who have witnessed it will recover quickly and fully.”
The local police confirmed that the Bavarian State Police was on the scene in Seubersdorf.
A spokesperson for the Deutsche Bahn confirmed that the Seubersdorf station has been closed and train travel between Regensburg and Nuremberg has been suspended. The long-distance train service has since been diverted, passing through the nearby city of Ingolstadt.
